महाराणा प्रताप

महाराणा प्रताप  परिचय:-  महाराणा प्रताप का जन्म विक्रम संवत 1597 जेष्ठ शुक्ल तृतीया रविवार 9 मई 1540 ईसवी को कुंभलगढ़ दुर्ग के कटार गढ़ बादल महल में हुआ। प्रताप महाराणा उदय सिंह का जेष्ठ पुत्र था उनकी माता का नाम जयवंता बाई (पाली नरेश अखेराज सोनगरा चौहान की पुत्री थी) महाराणा प्रताप का बचपन कुंभलगढ़ दुर्ग में ही व्यतीत हुआ। हाराणा प्रताप का विवाह 1597 ईस्वी में अजब्दे पवार के साथ हुआ जिनसे 16 मार्च 1559 ईस्वी में अमर सिंह का जन्म हुआ। महाराणा प्रताप 32 वर्ष की उम्र के थे तब उनके पिता उदय सिंह की होली के दिन 28 फरवरी 1572 ईस्वी को गोगुंदा में मृत्यु हो गई। उदयसिंह को गोगुंदा में ही दाह संस्कार किया गया। यहां स्थित महादेव बावड़ी पर 28 फरवरी 1572 ईस्वी को मेवाड़ के सामन्तों एवं प्रजा ने प्रतापसिंह का महाराणा के रूप में राजतिलक किया ।
